AQUATICO

Care & Maintenance

Aquatico sinks are designed and manufactured with durability in mind and require very little maintenance due to the high quality of the material and finish.

In order to preserve the life of your Aquatico sink, care should be taken to avoid the misuse of corrosive agents or harsh cleaning agents which could lead to discolouration or corrosion damage. Discolouration can also often be caused by water related deposits such as limescale which can form on the sink. These are not as a result of any defect on the product
but are a result of certain elements in the water.

Please refer to the Do’s and Don’ts below for the best way to care for your Aquatico sink.

DO’s:

  • Do use general washing up liquid, warm water and a soft sponge to clean the sink. Our Nano treated sinks require minimal effort to clean.
  • Do keep the sink clean of grime, food waste and limescale deposits.
  • Do dry the sink with a soft cloth or paper towel after cleaning.
  • Do use a very soft bristle brush on difficult stains.

DON’Ts:

  • Don’t use abrasive cleaners such as bleach and Viakal on your Nano treated sink. Also avoid cleaning products with chlorine and hydrochloric acid.
  • Don’t use harsh scourers or wire wool as these will damage your sink.
  • Don’t place hot pans directly from the hob or oven into the sink as this may leave marks on the sink.
  • Don’t leave plastic washing up bowls standing in the sink for prolonged periods of time as these can cause localised abrasive water marks.
  • Don’t spray cleaning products on the sink and leave for any length of time. Wipe away immediately.
  • Don’t let the sink come into contact with paint stripper, drain un-blocker, silver cleaner and adhesives.
  • Don’t leave substances such as citric fruits, vinegar and salts on the sink for long periods of time.
  • Don’t leave any corrosive substances on the sink surface.

Continued care and maintenance will preserve the appearance and longevity of the sink. Aquatico Nano treated sinks are more resistant to scratches from everyday use of regular kitchen utensils, cutlery, pots and pans. However, scratch marks will form if sustained pressure is applied with a sharp object e.g. a sharp knife or a screwdriver. While Aquatico Nano treated sinks are more resistant to scratches, this does not exclude them completely from experiencing some level of scratching over a long period of time through general usage and wear and tear. This is common to all sinks manufactured using stainless steel.

Aquatico Nano treated sinks have a lustrous satin finish which not only gives them an elegant and luxurious look, but will help form a natural and more gradual patina over the years. A patina is a natural sheen that all stainless steel sinks will form over time. The patina helps to disguise minor scratches and blemishes that may occur through general everyday usage. The patina will continually develop to subtly change the hue and appearance of the surface of the sink over the years. This is not a defect of the sink or the materials used.
